Nepal Protest Update: No one had predicted what happened in Nepal. Suddenly, within three days, the throne of power collapsed. In protest against the ban on social media, the youth of Nepal took to the streets and protested in such a way that the situation in Nepal does not seem to be improving yet. After KP Sharma Oli himself resigned from the post of PM, many ministers also left their responsibilities.
Seeing the anger of the youth and the arson and violence that broke out in Nepal, many big ministers and leaders have fled. While this movement will curb corruption, another way will also be created for nation-building. After their big victory, the protesters have put forward a long list of demands for political and social reforms.
The army has now completely taken over the command of Nepal. Instructions have been given to take major action on incidents of vandalism, looting and attack on a person. The Chief of the Nepal Army is General Ashok Raj Sigde. He has appealed for talks for a peaceful solution.
Nepal Army’s strict warning of curfew
The 58-year-old general, who took over the top post last year, has put forth his views in front of the country in his address. In his address, he said that we appeal to the protesting groups of the country to stop their protest programs. Along with this, come forward for talks for a peaceful solution for the nation. We will need to normalise the current difficult situation, protect our historical and national heritage, public and private property and ensure the safety of the general public and diplomatic missions. This means that the army has completely taken over the command.
Many people were killed in violence.
Protesters in Nepal made the situation uncontrollable over the ban on social media. First, they entered the Parliament and vandalised it, after which arson also took place. Police and protesters came face to face. So far, 20 people have died in this violence. While about 300 people have been injured. The government has restored the social media app. Big leaders of Nepal have fled the country.
