Anganwadi Salary Hike- Good news for anganwadi workers. Before the elections in Bihar, the Nitish government has announced an increase in the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi assistants. The honorarium of Anganwadi workers has been increased by two thousand rupees while that of Anganwadi assistants has been increased by 1500 rupees. This information was given by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself on Instagram on Monday. On a social media post, he wrote that Anganwadi workers and assistants have an important role in improving the nutrition and living standards of children and pregnant women in Bihar.

Respecting their role, we have decided to increase their honorarium. Now the department has been directed to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi worker from Rs. 7000 to Rs. 9000 and the honorarium of Anganwadi assistant from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 4500. The Chief Minister said that since the formation of the government in November 2005, we have worked extensively to improve the nutrition and health of pregnant women and children and for this, six types of services are being provided through the Integrated Child Development Project.

Anganwadi workers and assistants play an important role in providing these services to the beneficiaries through Anganwadi centres. In view of their important contribution, it has been decided to increase their honorarium. This will boost the morale of all Anganwadi workers and assistants and the integrated child development services will improve further. Under this, hundreds of Anganwadi workers and assistants have gathered at the protest site. Anganwadi workers were accusing the government of exploitative behavior and neglecting them. They said that they are not being given additional incentives. But now in the meantime, Nitish government has announced an increase in the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and assistants.
