One of the major schemes among these is the National Food Security Act (NFSA), under which crores of poor and economically weak families are given free food grains every month through ration cards. Know what is the new rule?

For information, let us tell you that the government has made it clear that it is now mandatory to do e-KYC of all members above 5 years of age of every ration card holder family. Earlier, the last date to complete this process was fixed as 30 June, which has now been extended to 31 August. In such a situation, if you do not get e-KYC done by this date, then your ration card can be suspended, and the free ration you get can be stopped.

After that, go to the portal and choose the option of e-KYC or ration card services. Now enter your ration card number. After entering the details, enter the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. Why is it necessary to get eKYC done?

For information, let us tell you that the objective of the government is to remove fake beneficiaries from this, and only eligible people get the benefit of the schemes. Therefore, with the help of e-KYC, the government determines the identity of the real beneficiaries and essential facilities like ration are limited only to the needy.
