School Holiday- Big news for school students. Not only school students, there is a big update for working people also. Schools and offices will remain closed in the last week of July in some districts of Tamil Nadu. Schools and offices will remain closed here due to festivals and historical importance. These holidays will be today, Wednesday 23 July, Thursday 24 July and Monday 28 July.

Schools in Ariyalur district will remain closed on July 23 on the occasion of Rajendra Chola’s birth anniversary. Emperor Rajendra Chola is considered one of the greatest rulers of South India. During his reign, the Chola Empire increased its power in South-East Asia. He conquered many areas like Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. 6 areas were conquered.

On July 24, there will be a holiday in schools in Kanyakumari district due to Aadi Amavasya. This day is celebrated in Hinduism to pay tribute to ancestors. On this day, people perform special prayers and tarpan, which maintains happiness and peace in the family.

Schools will remain closed on July 28 in Chengalpattu district on account of Aadi Pooram festival. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Goddess Andal. Special prayers are offered in temples and homes, and people pray to the Goddess for well-being. However, to ensure that studies and government work are not hampered due to the holiday, all the concerned schools and government offices will remain open on Saturday, July 26 and Saturday, August 9.
