Ingredients for making Matar Dal:
Shelled peas
Green chilies
Tomatoes
Garlic
Ginger
Black pepper
Onion
Mustard oil
Whole red chilies
Coriander powder
Turmeric powder
Red chili powder
Garam masala
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds
Asafoetida
Cumin seeds
Bay leaf
Learn the easy method to make it:
First, boil the peas in water.
After that, grind half of the boiled peas in a mixer grinder.
Now, grind the green chilies, ginger, garlic, and black pepper into a paste.
Heat a pan on the gas and heat the mustard oil in it.
Now add bay leaf, asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and whole red chilies as per your preference and sauté them.
Now add the ground peas and fry them for a minute.
Now add all the spices mentioned above to the peas and cook well.
Now add the tomato puree and boil it well. When it comes to a good boil, add coriander leaves and garam masala, and after two minutes, turn off the gas and serve it hot with rice.
