Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025: Like every time, this time too the preparations for Puri Dham Jagannath Rath Yatra of Odisha are going on in full swing. Which is considered a big symbol of devotion and faith. According to the Panchang, the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is taken out every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month.
In such a situation, today, i.e., on the full moon day of Jyeshtha month, Lord Jagannath will be given a bath. After this, the doors of Lord Jagannath will be closed for 14 days. Due to which devotees cannot see the Lord. After this, when the Lord gets well, the Jagannath Yatra starts.
A bath will be given with water from 108 pitchers
Before the Rath Yatra, today the idols of Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra will be bathed with water from 108 pitchers. For this, these three gods are brought from the sanctum sanctorum to the pavilion.
Then, according to the tradition, many types of medicines, like fragrant flowers, sandalwood, saffron, and musk, are mixed in this water. Then after this holy bath, Lord Jagannath and his siblings get a fever. According to this tradition, the Lord is kept alone for 14 days.
When will the Jagannath Yatra start?
