Mandi Landslide – 6 Bodies Recovered,Rescue Operations Underway Amidst Heavy Rains

Landslide in Mandi:- Nature’s fury has broken out in Himachal Pradesh in such a way that 6 people,including four members of the same family,have been buried in the debris. The landslide that hit the house has buried six people alive. At present,six bodies have been found,and the NDRF team is conducting rescue operations on the spot since nightfall in search of others.

Mandi Deputy Commissioner (DC) said,‘A landslide occurred in Sundarnagar late in the evening,which hit two houses.’ He said that there were four people in a house,out of which a woman and a child had been evacuated. But they died while being taken to the hospital. A body has also been recovered from another house.

According to officials,the search for a total of three missing people,including two trapped in a house during the landslide and a person who was in the car,is still on. All the teams are deployed on the spot and are trying to find people.

According to the information coming on Wednesday morning,the death toll in the massive landslide in Sundarnagar has risen to 6. On Tuesday,relief teams recovered three more bodies from the debris. Among them,the bodies of mother-son Surinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh have been taken out by cutting the roof of the house. Both were buried under the house. Relief and rescue work is still going on. Along with this,a search operation is also going on for information on the Tata Sumo being buried.

Warning of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh

Continuous rain continues in Himachal Pradesh. Due to heavy rain,there is devastation in Himachal Pradesh. The local Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy rain in Kangra,Mandi,Sirmaur and Kinnaur districts for Wednesday. Along with this,a heavy rain warning has also been issued in Una and Bilaspur districts.

Due to heavy rains across the state,1,337 roads have been closed,including many national highways. All government and private educational institutions,including coaching and nursing institutes,have been closed in Shimla,Kangra and Sirmaur districts.
