The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has directed to use the Mobile Number Revocation List (MNRL) available on the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) to prevent fraud. It is necessary to update the record every week

NPCI has made it mandatory for banks and UPI apps like Google Pay and PhonePe to update mobile number records at least once a week. Companies providing UPI services will have to use MNRL or the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) to identify and remove suspects.

Know which users will suffer

If the mobile number has changed and is not updated in the bank,such users will not be able to use UPI.

People who have deactivated their number without updating it in the bank. They will not be able to use UPI.

Deactivated mobile numbers that have not been used for services like calls,SMS,etc. will be removed from the UPI network.

Make sure that the mobile numbers linked to the bank account are active. If not,they should be activated as soon as possible.

Users should update their mobile number in the bank account linked to UPI.

If the mobile number linked to the UPI ID is inactive,UPI users can get a new number before April 1 to avoid services being discontinued.
