Dream of Visiting Kashmir Gets Easier – Direct Train Travel from Across India

Major Railway Upgrade (1)

The dream of seeing the beauty of Kashmir has now become even easier! Now,Kashmir is connected to Kanyakumari by rail route, which means that you can enjoy the beautiful valleys of Kashmir directly by train from any corner of the country. Currently,Vande Bharat trains are running between Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar.

Apart from this,Indian Railways is preparing to increase the frequency of trains there so that the surrounding small cities can also be connected to Srinagar. For this, the capacity of the tracks is being increased, and the coaches are also being upgraded. You will be surprised to know that this upgradation work is not being done in big cities like Delhi or Mumbai, but in a special city of Uttar Pradesh.

This city of UP is upgrading the coaches of Kashmir

The work of upgrading the coaches of local trains running in the Kashmir Valley,i.e.,DEMU MEMU,is being done in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. These coaches have been brought from Budgam to the factory in Lucknow, and they are being equipped with modern facilities there.

Renovation of old coaches

Since these coaches were old and there was no arrangement to upgrade them, their condition was deteriorating. Now,for the first time, coaches have been brought from the valley to Lucknow by rail for repair. Road trailers are also being used if needed. According to the Railway Ministry, the work of upgrading the coaches is going on very fast, and the work on all the coaches is expected to be completed by the end of August.

How is the upgradation work being done

Many changes are being made to make these coaches more comfortable and safe for the passengers. Painting and painting work are being done to give the coaches an attractive look. Bio-tanks are being installed in the toilets. Along with this, new water pumps are being installed, and sufficient electricity is being provided to run them, and the switch panel is being automated. This will ensure that the water supply continues even in the summer season when there is no generator.

Old seats are being repaired and replaced with polycarbonate seats. The PVC flooring is being renovated and all the stainless steel parts are being polished. Along with this, new handles are also being installed for standing passengers. All the windows are being renovated and made more stylish and better.
