Volkswagen Virtus Facelift Teaser: Demand for sedans in the Indian car market is decreasing compared to SUVs, but the Volkswagen Virtus has made its mark. Its sporty design, powerful TSI engine and great driving experience make it the first choice of those who love it. Now the company is preparing to bring this popular sedan in a new avatar.
Volkswagen India has released the first official teaser of the new Virtus facelift. This is reflected in the exterior design of the car. The new model comes with a new front bumper, new alloy wheels, GT badging, and an updated rear design. According to reports, it can be launched in the Indian market in December 2026. So let’s know about it in detail.
New front design
In the teaser of the new Volkswagen Virtus Facelift, most of the attention goes to its front look. The company has retained the existing slim design of the car’s headlamps, but the LED DRLs have been shown in a new way inside the car. Between the two headlamps is a thin upper grille with the Volkswagen logo in the centre. Apart from this, the red GT badge is also seen on one side which makes its sporty look even more special.
The front bumper of the car looks much more designed than before. It features wide lower air intakes and geometric patterned detailing. Both sides of the bumper also get new design elements that give it a more sporty appeal.

New alloy wheels and GT badging
Volkswagen has teased the new Virtus facelift with a blue exterior colour. The colour scheme is quite attractive with the car’s dark alloy wheels and black ORVMs. Apart from this, the new alloy wheels feature an angular design that makes the overall look of the car a bit more sporty.
No changes have been made to the side profile of the car. Its existing shoulder line, traditional door handles and sloping roofline have been retained. The GT badging is also clearly visible in the teaser. This suggests that the company will also offer the sporty GT variant with an updated design.
Cabin
Volkswagen has not yet shown the inside of the Virtus facelift. However, the inside is expected to have seat upholstery, new interior trim and some new technology features.
The biggest change is the addition of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The current 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system can also stay with the software. It is also expected to have a 360-degree camera.
Engine and gearbox
The Volkswagen Virtus facelift is expected to use the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI engine gives 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre TSI engine gives 150 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
For the transmission, the 1.0-litre engine will come with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox instead of the current 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre TSI engine is expected to keep the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Launch Date
Volkswagen India has released the first official teaser of the new Virtus facelift. The company is expected to launch it in the Indian market in December 2026. At the moment, no information has been given about its price and availability.
