Vande Bharat Express: Exciting news for Mewar residents! The Vande Bharat Express is launching regular service between Udaipur and Surat starting October 3rd. The Udaipur-Asarwa route was temporarily paused while plans for the Surat extension were finalized. Thanks to the dedication of Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, the Railway Ministry has confirmed the service will run to Surat from October 3rd.
Vande Bharat Express connecting Udaipur to Surat with regular service beginning October 3rd. According to MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, the Vande Bharat Express will leave Surat on October 2nd and pull into Udaipur around 5:30 pm. Once it arrives, the train will stop in Udaipur for a special railway welcome ceremony featuring railway officials and community leaders. The following day, October 3rd, regular service kicks off as the train departs Udaipur heading toward Surat.
The train operates six days weekly
With this new setup, the Vande Bharat Express will serve the Udaipur-Surat route six days each week, with Tuesdays as the only day off. Extending this train to Surat will be a game-changer for Mewar travelers heading to Gujarat cities and South India for work, business, and personal reasons. Based on the updated timetable, the Vande Bharat Express departs Udaipur at 3:35 pm, reaching Jawar at 4:03 pm, Dungarpur at 4:50 pm, Shamlaji Road at 5:27 pm, Himmatnagar at 6:18 pm, and Asarwa at 7:25 pm. The journey continues to Maninagar at 8:58 am, Anand at 9:50 am, and Bharuch at 10:22 pm, finally arriving in Surat around 11 pm.
The return train reaches Udaipur at 1:40 pm
The train departs Surat at 6:10 am and arrives in Udaipur around 1:40 pm after stopping at various stations along the way. This creates a quick and convenient direct rail connection for passengers traveling between Udaipur and Surat. MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat expressed his gratitude to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for making the Vande Bharat extension to Surat a reality. He said the central government has taken seriously the long-standing demand of the people of Mewar. According to him, the launch of this train will benefit trade, employment, and transportation in Mewar.
A large number of Mewar people are involved in business and employment in Surat. Apart from this, there are a number of people travelling from Mewar to many cities in South India as well. Currently, many passengers have to take a bus to reach Surat from Udaipur and after that they have to travel further by train. In such a situation, running of Vande Bharat to Surat will provide convenience in connectivity to the passengers and connecting to trains in South India through Surat will also become easier.
