Vande Bharat Express: Big news for passengers. The country is set to welcome another new Vande Bharat Express train soon. The Railway Board of the Railway Ministry has given the green light for a new Vande Bharat Express service between Udaipur in Rajasthan and Surat in Gujarat. The train traveling from Surat to Udaipur City will be designated as 26903. Conversely, the return trip from Udaipur City to Surat will be identified as train number 26904. This new service is expected to commence before the Sharadiya Navratri festival, which begins on October 11th this year. Therefore, the launch of this train could happen around that date.
The Udaipur City-Asarva Vande Bharat Express services will be terminated. The Railway Board approved this new Vande Bharat Express route between Surat and Udaipur City on August 31st of last month. It’s important to note that the Railway Board also sanctioned the discontinuation of the Vande Bharat Express service between Udaipur City and Aasarva (Ahmedabad). The train numbered 26963/26964, which operated the Udaipur City-Aasarva route, was introduced in February of this year.
The journey that currently takes 13 hours will be reduced to just 7 hours and 30 minutes. We would like to inform you that the route for train number 26903/26904 will mirror that of train number 26963/26964 up to Aasarva. Essentially, Indian Railways is extending the Udaipur City-Aasarva Vande Bharat Express service from Aasarva to Surat under a new name and number. Presently, there is only one train (Udaipur City-Bandra Superfast Express) operating between Udaipur City and Surat, which takes about 13 hours to cover the 694 km distance. In contrast, the Vande Bharat Express will complete the same journey in just 7 hours and 30 minutes.
The new Vande Bharat Express train will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. The Surat-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, with the exception of Tuesday. Train No. 26903 is scheduled to leave Surat at 6:10 am and reach Udaipur at 1:40 pm. On the return trip, Train No. 26904 will depart Udaipur at 3:35 pm and arrive Surat at 11 pm. The train will stop at Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Maninagar, Asarwa, Himmatnagar, Shamlaji Road, Dungarpur, and Zawar railway stations in both directions.
