Upcoming Cars (2026): The coming weeks promise to be quite exciting for the Indian automotive sector. Several companies are gearing up to launch new cars ahead of the festive season. Five new cars are set to enter the Indian market soon, spanning various categories including facelifts, premium SUVs, hybrids, and EVs. The launches won’t be limited to the SUV segment; sedans and cars featuring hybrid technology are also on the way.
Notably, major brands like Skoda, JSW MG Motor, Kia, Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai are part of this lineup. While some models will arrive as facelifts, others will be introduced as entirely new products. If you are planning to buy a new car, these upcoming models could be excellent options.
New Skoda Slavia Facelift
Skoda is preparing to launch the updated version of its popular sedan, the Slavia, on August 18, 2026. This will be a mid-cycle facelift, likely featuring design tweaks and updates to the car’s cabin.
The new Slavia is expected to come with modern features such as all-LED headlights, dynamic rear turn indicators, and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Additionally, upgrades to the AC system and the inclusion of a massage function for the rear seats are anticipated.

MG Hector Hawk
JSW MG Motor is set to launch the new MG Hector Hawk in the Indian market on August 26, 2026. It will be a large three-row SUV, likely positioned above the Hector Plus. The Hector Hawk is expected to be a rebadged version of the Wuling Starlight 560 and will likely be positioned as a premium family SUV. It is expected to compete with large SUVs like the Mahindra XUV 7XO and XEV 9S. In terms of powertrains, this SUV could be particularly notable, as reports suggest it will be offered with plug-in hybrid and pure electric (EV) options.
Kia Sorento
Kia’s premium SUV, the Sorento, has been highly anticipated in the Indian market for a long time. The company is now preparing to launch it in India on September 4, 2026. The Sorento will be based on the same platform as the Hyundai Santa Fe and is expected to compete in the premium 3-row SUV segment. In the Indian market, it could rival SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron.

Maruti Fronx Facelift
As you may know, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has carved a distinct niche for itself in the Indian market. Since its launch in 2023, this crossover has sold over 5 lakh units. The company is now gearing up to launch its facelifted version on September 5, 2026. The new Fronx is expected to feature new bumpers, updated headlights, and revised cabin trim and upholstery to refresh its design. While retaining its overall shape, the company might give it a more modern look.
The most interesting news regarding the Fronx concerns its hybrid powertrain. The company is working on series-hybrid technology for it, though it remains unclear whether it will be available at launch or introduced later. If a hybrid Fronx arrives in the future, it could become an excellent option for mileage-conscious buyers.
Next-Generation Hyundai Bayon
Hyundai is also preparing to strengthen its SUV lineup in the Indian market. The next-generation Hyundai Bayon is expected to be introduced in September 2026. It could be positioned below the Creta, thereby filling a gap in Hyundai’s SUV portfolio. The engine is expected to be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit. However, final specifications and variant-wise details will only be revealed at the time of launch.
