New Aadhaar App: The mAadhaar app by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been replaced by a new and improved Aadhaar mobile app, which is said to be more secure and user-friendly. The new app offers face authentication for identity verification and enables secure sharing of Aadhaar information through QR codes. Users have the option to select which Aadhaar details they wish to share.
New features available from July 1st include the ability for users to update their email IDs for free using the app until the year-end. The app also introduces an Aadhaar Update History feature for users to track changes made to their Aadhaar information. Additionally, the Security section includes features like Virtual ID and Aadhaar Lock/Unlock options to enhance security.
Special features of the new Aadhaar app include Face Authentication, Aadhaar sharing via QR Code, Biometric Lock/Unlock, Selective Aadhaar Sharing, and Digital Credentials Management. Users can link multiple Aadhaar profiles to a single mobile device, and the app supports various Indian languages.
To download and use the new Aadhaar app, users need to download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, log in with their Aadhaar-linked mobile number, complete biometric verification, and set a 4-digit PIN. Once these steps are completed, users can access all Aadhaar-related services through the app.
