Hyundai Latest Car: The market for electric vehicles (EVs) in India is gradually expanding. Consumers are no longer limited to petrol or diesel vehicles; they are now seeking electric cars that offer a good range while remaining budget-friendly. In response to this trend, companies like Hyundai and Honda are developing new electric models. According to reports, both manufacturers could introduce new electric SUVs to the Indian market by 2026—specifically, the Hyundai HE1i and the Honda Zero Alpha. Let’s take a closer look at the details of both.
Hyundai HE1i
Hyundai is currently working on a new electric SUV, the Hyundai HE1i, which it is developing with the Indian market in mind. It is expected to launch by December 2026. Once released, it will likely compete with electric vehicles such as the Tata Punch EV and the Tata Nexon EV. However, the company has not yet officially confirmed the name or specific launch details.

Design
In terms of design, the Hyundai HE1i is expected to feature a boxy aesthetic. It will likely have a robust, rugged appearance, with a size comparable to the Hyundai Exter. The front of the SUV may include split headlamps, a closed-off grille, and a striking bumper. Additionally, large windows, roof rails, and LED tail lamps will likely give it a distinct identity. A full-width LED light bar is also expected at the rear.
Features and Battery Range
The Hyundai HE1i is expected to come equipped with various features designed to enhance the driving experience. The cabin may include a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, and ventilated seats. The seats might also feature a leather-like finish. For safety, the vehicle is expected to include features such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
The battery and range could be the most notable aspects of this electric SUV. According to reports, it may offer two battery pack options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. Its range could span from 450 to 500 kilometres, or potentially even more. However, the company has not yet disclosed details regarding its pricing or charging specifications.
Honda Zero Alpha
Honda is also preparing to introduce a new electric SUV to the Indian market. Currently, it is being referred to as the ‘Honda Zero Alpha’, though the company may opt for a different name at the time of launch. It is expected to be a mid-size electric SUV, likely competing with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta Electric.

Design
The Honda Zero Alpha is expected to feature a boxy, robust design. The company may aim to give it a distinct identity, setting it apart from its other vehicle offerings. Inside, the cabin could include a large touchscreen, a digital driver display, and physical button controls. Additionally, it may come equipped with ventilated seats and an interior featuring a premium finish.
Battery, Range, and Safety Features
The Honda Zero Alpha is expected to house a larger battery pack compared to the Hyundai HE1i; reports suggest it could feature a battery ranging from 65 kWh to 75 kWh. On a full charge, it is expected to offer a range of approximately 450 to 500 kilometres.
In terms of features, the Honda Zero Alpha is expected to include a panoramic sunroof (or a large glass roof), seats with a leather-like finish, and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). For safety, it may come equipped with features such as 6 airbags, ABS, and EBD.
Pricing and Launch
It should be noted that there has been no official announcement regarding the pricing of either electric SUV. The Hyundai HE1i is expected to be positioned as a compact electric SUV, while the Honda Zero Alpha is likely to enter the mid-size SUV segment. In this scenario, both vehicles may differ in terms of pricing and their target audience. Regarding their launch, current information suggests that both models could arrive in the Indian market by December 2026.
