Monsoon Forecast: Cyclonic storm ‘Remal’ is moving fast! Trains cancelled, warning of heavy rain in these states

Cyclone Remal Update: On one hand, the severe heat has made people’s lives miserable. The summer conditions in Rajasthan are such that people neither get any respite during the day nor at night.

According to IMD, this will be the first cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal this pre-monsoon season.

According to IMD, according to the latest information released at 7:50 pm on Saturday evening, the deep depression over East-Central Bay of Bengal has transformed into cyclonic storm ‘Remal’ and is about 360 km south-southeast of Khepupara and 350 km from Sagar Island. Concentrated in the south-southeast.

Due to the cyclone warning, several local suburban train services between Sealdah and Namkhana of South 24 Parganas, Kakdwip, and Sealdah-Hasnabad of North 24 Parganas have been cancelled between Sunday midnight and Monday morning.

IMD alert: heavy rainfall

The weather office has issued an alert in view of heavy rain in the coastal districts of West Bengal and North Odisha on May 26–27. Apart from this, there may be heavy rain in some parts of north-east India on May 27–28.

Kolkata Airport authorities have decided to suspend flight operations for 21 hours starting today, i.e., Sunday afternoon, in view of the impact of Cyclone Ramal.

According to PTI, a total of 394 flights with arrivals and departures in both the international and domestic sectors will not operate to and from the airport during the flight suspension period.

The weather office has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea in the North Bay of Bengal until the morning of Monday, May 27. Apart from this, an orange alert has been issued in East Medinipur districts for May 26–27. In North Odisha, the coastal districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara may see heavy rain on May 26–27.
