Motorola is gearing up to launch its latest mid-range 5G smartphone – the Moto Edge 40 in India. Some key specifications related to the display, camera, battery and pricing have been revealed ahead of the official announcement.

Display
The Moto Edge 40 is tipped to feature a fluid 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with an ultra-smooth refresh rate of 144Hz for seamless scrolling and visuals.
The high refresh rate coupled with Motorola’s useful software enhancements promises an immersive viewing experience whether you are browsing social media or playing games.
The display is likely to have slim bezels all around and sport a punch-hole cutout on the top center to accommodate the selfie camera. Brightness levels of 500 nits are rumoured for comfortable outdoor visibility.
Camera
In the camera department, the Moto Edge 40 is speculated to offer a triple rear setup comprising of:
- 50MP primary sensor
- 13MP secondary lens
- 2MP depth or macro camera
For selfies and video calls, there is expected to be a 32MP front shooter. The camera app is also tipped to come preloaded with a variety of modes and filters to help capture social media ready pictures and portraits every time.
Software
Under the hood, a MediaTek Dimensity 7030 chip may power the Moto Edge 40 smartphone – capable of handling daily tasks and gaming smoothly.
The phone is said to run near-stock Android 13 software out of the box for a cleaner, bloatware-free and smoother experience. Being an Android One device, Motorola promises regular security patches and major OS updates for couple of years.
Battery
One of the key highlights of the Moto Edge 40 is expected to be the big capacity 5000mAh battery. This should easily provide over a day’s usage on single charge. There will also fast charging support via the bundled charger.
