This time, they’ve upgraded their Comet electric car with the much-awaited fast charging feature, along with a few other enhancements. And the best part? The starting price for the Comet now begins at just Rs 6.99 lakh, making it even more accessible to electric car enthusiasts across India.
Charging
One of the most significant updates to the Comet electric car is the introduction of fast charging capabilities, now available in the top two models: Excite and Exclusive. Alongside this, MG has also incorporated additional features like rear disc brakes, hill hold control, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), enhancing both safety and performance.
Renaming and Pricing
Previously known as Pace, Play, and Plush, the Comet models have been rebranded as Executive, Excite, and Exclusive. While the pricing for Excite and Exclusive remains unchanged, the new Exclusive model comes with a slight premium of Rs 20,000 over the previous Plush variant.
Affordability
In a bid to make the Comet more appealing to potential buyers, MG had previously slashed the prices by up to Rs 1.40 lakh. Now, let’s take a look at the updated pricing for the Comet models:

Aside from the introduction of fast charging, the Comet now boasts several new features, including electronic parking brake, power foldable wing mirrors, and creep mode. While these additions have led to a price increase of Rs 56,000 for the top model, the enhanced driving experience they offer is well worth the investment.
Range
Equipped with a 17.3kWh battery, the Comet delivers a range of 230km as per ARAI standards. Its rear-mounted electric motor generates 42hp of power and 110Nm of torque, providing a smooth and efficient ride. While ideally suited for city driving, the Comet stands out in the market with its unique blend of performance and affordability.
