Train Cancellations: If you travel daily by MEMU train, this information matters. Passengers often arrive at the station on time to catch their usual train, only to discover upon arrival that it has been cancelled, wasting their time. A major 15-day “mega block” is being implemented from September 19 to October 4 to facilitate the commissioning of a third rail line between Hadapsar and Ghorpadi and to carry out non-interlocking work.
According to railway officials, 67 trains will be affected by this yard remodelling project. Of these, 42 trains have been fully or partially cancelled, while 25 have been diverted. Sudden train cancellations during the Ganeshotsav and upcoming festive season could cause significant inconvenience to passengers. However, the railway administration maintains that this work is essential to improve train speed and capacity in the future.
Meanwhile, the worsening flood situation in Bihar has prompted the railways to take necessary measures, including cancelling certain trains. Water levels have risen significantly between the Punpun and Parsa Bazar stations on the Patna-Gaya rail section, forcing the railways to suspend train operations in the area. As a result, several trains have been cancelled.
