Tata Motors 2026-27 New Cars: Tata Motors is gearing up to further strengthen its presence in the Indian auto market over the next two years. The company isn’t just stopping at launching a few new cars; it plans to revamp its entire portfolio by rolling out a series of new models and updated vehicles. Tata Motors could introduce six new models to the Indian market between 2026 and 2027.

The lineup includes new ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) models, facelifts, and premium electric SUVs. While names like Sierra and Safari. ev are already generating buzz, the real excitement will build when the company launches its premium Avinya EV. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

Tigor and Tigor. ev

Tata Motors may roll out significant updates for the Tigor and Tigor. ev by September 2026. Much like the makeover given to the Tiago and Tiago ev, the Tigor family is also expected to undergo similar changes. The front profile of these new cars could feature a cleaner and more sophisticated design.

This facelift is expected to include rectangular headlamps, a new grille design, and cleaner bumpers with less sculpting. Additionally, the cars may get new alloy wheels, updated tail lamps, and fresh colour options. In essence, Tata could give the vehicle a significantly refreshed look without replacing the entire car.

The cabin will also see substantial changes. The new Tigor is expected to feature a new dashboard, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console might include an open storage space for two smartphones, along with a new steering wheel. However, no major changes are expected in the mechanical setup.

Safari.ev

Tata Motors could launch the Safari.ev in late 2026. This will be a fully electric version of the Safari, and the company may offer it with various battery and drivetrain configurations.

The Safari.ev is expected to come with standard-range RWD, extended-range RWD, and extended-range AWD options. In terms of range, the Safari.ev is expected to cover approximately 600 kilometres on a single charge, depending on the configuration.

Sierra AWD

Tata Motors may introduce an AWD version of the Sierra (ICE) in early 2027. It is expected to offer 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel engine options, with a 6-speed automatic gearbox likely coming as standard. The Sierra AWD could become the company’s most affordable all-wheel-drive SUV. However, because of the AWD technology and higher-end variants, its price is expected to be significantly higher than the standard Sierra.

Next-Gen Nexon

Tata Motors might launch the next-generation Nexon—reportedly codenamed ‘Garud’—in mid-2027. While initial reports suggested it would be based on a heavily updated version of the current X1 platform, the company may now opt to use a shortened version of the Sierra’s platform instead.

Details regarding the next-gen Nexon are scarce, but significant improvements are expected in areas such as safety, comfort, convenience, connectivity, and driver assistance features. This suggests the new Nexon will not only feature a fresh design but also be far more modern inside.

Avinya EV

The latter part of 2027 could prove to be a pivotal period for Tata Motors, as the company may launch its EV-exclusive ‘Avinya’ brand in the Indian market. The first model is expected to be a D-segment SUV built on a new platform shared with Chery-JLR—the same platform currently utilised for the Freelander 8 extended-range electric SUV.

The design of this new Avinya SUV could mirror the ‘Avinya X’ concept showcased at the 2026 Auto Expo. If the production model retains much of the concept’s futuristic aesthetic, Tata Motors could carve out a unique identity for itself in the premium EV market.
