Haryana Government Schools: Now sports facilities will be strengthened in Haryana’s government schools. Sports resources will be provided in schools, so that players can participate in sports along with studies. An amount of Rs 14 crore 78 lakh 95 thousand has been released by the Government of India under sports grant.
Allocation of district-wise sports grant
To strengthen sports facilities in 14 thousand 219 schools across the state, district-wise sports grant has been allocated by the Haryana School Education Project Council. The grant will be allocated in four categories from primary school to secondary and high school and senior schools. Regarding this, separate grants have been allocated by the Education Department, so that no problem is faced in purchasing sports equipment anywhere.
Grant has been issued under sports grant under the financial year 2024-25 by the Government of India. Instructions have been given to spend the grant by March 31. The grant of schools which do not spend the sports grant by March 31 will lapse.
The SMC chairman will be the head of the committee
A six-member committee will be formed at the school level to purchase sports equipment. The chairman of the school management committee will be the chairman of the committee. The school head will be the member secretary, the sarpanch will be the member and an SSC member, who has a background related to sports, will be nominated as members. AEO and physical education teacher, DPE and PTI will be included as technical members.

The funds must be utilized by March 31, 2025, or they will lapse. To oversee the purchase of sports equipment, a six-member committee will be formed at each school. The School Management Committee (SMC) chairman will lead the committee, with the school head, a sarpanch, a sports background SSC member, and technical members including an AEO, physical education teacher, DPE, and PTI, ensuring proper and effective allocation of the funds for sports resources.
