
SSC JE Exam Date 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the dates for the Junior Engineer (JE) examination. Candidates who were eagerly awaiting the SSC Junior Engineer Exam Date 2026 can now prepare to appear for the exam. This recruitment drive will fill a total of 1,748 junior engineer posts. Candidates are advised to intensify their preparations.
These examinations will be conducted during November and December 2026. According to the notice issued by the SSC, all exams will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates should keep a close watch on the official SSC website for final updates regarding the exam dates.
When will the Junior Engineer exam be held?
According to the official notification, the SSC Junior Engineer exam will be conducted between November 2 and November 6, 2026. In Paper-1, candidates will face 50 questions (50 marks) on General Intelligence and Reasoning, 50 questions (50 marks) on General Awareness, and 100 questions (100 marks) on their specific engineering discipline. The duration for Paper-1 is set at 2 hours. There will be negative marking, with a deduction of one-fourth of a mark for each incorrect answer.
Paper-2 Exam Pattern
Candidates who qualify in Paper-1 will appear for Paper-2. In Paper-2, candidates will answer 100 questions (300 marks) related to their engineering discipline. One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
Delhi Police SI and CAPF Exam Dates
Following the JE exam, the examination for Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) 2026 will be conducted. According to the SSC’s proposed schedule, this exam will take place between November 20 and November 28, 2026. This exam will also be conducted in CBT mode. CHSL Tier-1 Exam Starts in November
The schedule for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2026 (Tier-1) has also been announced. The CHSL Tier-1 exam is proposed to be held from November 30 to December 31.
Recruitment for 1,748 Posts in SSC JE
Recruitment for 1,748 tentative posts will be conducted under the SSC JE 2026 drive. These include positions for junior engineers as well as scientific assistants. The recruitment process involves examinations for posts in civil, electrical, mechanical, and telecommunication disciplines. The JE Paper-1 will consist of 200 questions carrying a total of 200 marks. Candidates will be allotted 2 hours for the exam, and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for incorrect answers.
