Indi vs South Africa match cancellation in Lucknow issue sparked discussion in parliament

While talking to the media, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, “BCCI will review the scheduling of the matches, during this time frame Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also came forward and requested the BCCI VP to schedule the match in Kerala and said “Come to Kerala (Come to Kerala), after which Rajeev Shukla said that ‘we will think about it.’ Both of them spent light moments together. Earlier, after the match was cancelled, Shashi Tharoor had shared a post on social media suggesting that the match be rescheduled in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Congress MP wrote in his post, “Cricket fans were waiting in vain for the #INDVSSAODI match to start in Lucknow. But with the thick smog that has spread across most North Indian cities and an AQI of 411, visibility is so poor that the cricket match cannot take place. They should have rescheduled the match in Thiruvananthapuram, where the AQI is currently around 68.”

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said, “The match had to be cancelled due to fog. People were upset about it. We will have to review the scheduling of matches scheduled between December 15 and January 15 in North India to decide whether we need to shift them to South India or West India.” New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Lucknow, Ranchi, Raipur, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, Ahmedabad,

Guwahati and Kolkata were selected as venues for the entire series against South Africa during November and December, a time when pollution levels are typically at their worst in host cities like Lucknow, New Chandigarh and Dharamsala.
