Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced a 50-run loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 18th match of IPL 2025 on Saturday. This was the first defeat for Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS in the current season, after winning their first two matches.
Despite the loss, PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta was seen smiling. She encouraged captain Shreyas Iyer by hugging him. Even after PBKS lost three quick wickets, Preity gave a heartwarming message to the team, showing her support and positivity.

RR Beat PBKS by 50 Runs in IPL 2025
Rajasthan Royals defeated the Punjab Kings by 50 runs in the 18th match of IPL 2025. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 67 runs in 45 balls and Jofra Archer took 3 wickets for 25 runs. RR posted a total of 205/4 and restricted PBKS to 155/9.
Shreyas Iyer’s Statement After the Loss
PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer scored only 10 runs. After the match, he said, “We wanted to stop them at 180–185, which was chaseable. But we gave away some extra runs.” He added, “We could not play according to our plan. This defeat has come early in the season.”
