CBSE Class 10th Second Board Exam 2026 – Check Eligibility and Fee Details

CBSE Class 10th Second Board Exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a circular regarding the Class 10th Second Board Exam, offering students an opportunity to improve their performance in up to three subjects. The circular outlines the process and timeline for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC). This process will be completed in three phases:

Phase 1: From March 18, 2026, to March 31, 2026. The CBSE Board has advised that students who wish to appear for the examination should register their names during this period.

CBSE Class 10th Second Exam Schedule:

The submission of the List of Candidates follows a three-phase schedule. The first phase runs from March 18, 2026, to March 31, 2026; the second phase begins the day after the main examination results are declared and lasts for 5 days; and the third phase commences two days after the 7th day following the declaration of results.

Eligibility Criteria for the Second Board Exam:

Students must have appeared for the main examination.
Students must appear in at least three subjects.
Students who have passed the main examination may seek to improve their scores in up to three subjects.
Students placed in the ‘Compartment’ category are also eligible to participate.
Students who have failed in three or more subjects will be required to reappear for the main examination in February of the following year.

CBSE 10th Exam Fees:
A fee of ₹320 per subject has been prescribed for the CBSE Class 10th examination. Additionally, for students from Nepal, the fee is ₹1,100 per subject.

  1. Students cannot fill out the application form independently; applications must be submitted exclusively through their respective schools.
  2. The number of examination centres for this exam will be limited. Once an examination centre is allotted, it cannot be changed.
  3. The syllabus for this examination will remain identical to the syllabus prescribed for your initial main examination.
  4. Students should register their names during the first phase; they may then decide whether or not to pay the fees and appear for the examination after the results have been declared.
  5. The portal will remain open only until 11:59 PM on the final day of each respective phase.
