Shubman Gill Creates History

Indian team captain Shubman Gill earned the ICC Player of the Month award for his excellent performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. In July, he scored 567 runs in 3 matches with an average of 94.50. The ICC selected him as Player of the Month, beating Ben Stokes and Wiaan Mulder. Gill also proved his leadership skills in his first series as captain. He became the first male cricketer to win this award four times.

Shubman Gill said, “I feel great to be chosen as the ICC Player of the Month for July. This award means a lot because I earned it in my first Test series as captain. I will always remember my double century in Birmingham. It is one of the highlights of my England tour.”
