It’s not just Tests that India is losing to South Africa. The Indian team also lost the third match of the ODI series between India A and South Africa A. Despite this defeat, India still won the series. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan and Ayush Badoni’s impressive innings were thwarted.
One Day series between India A and South A
A one-day series was being played between India A and South Africa A. The Indian team won the first two matches, securing the series, but lost the third match. Thus, their ambition to whitewash South Africa remained unfulfilled. Ishan Kishan and Ayush Badoni scored half-centuries during the match, but they were of no use.
South Africa A team scored 325 runs
Batting first, South Africa A scored 325 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. India faced a huge target of 326 runs. Both openers scored centuries for South Africa. Luan-Dre Pretorius scored 123 runs off 98 balls, including nine fours and six sixes. The other opener, Rivaldo Moonsamy, played a crucial innings of 107 runs off 130 balls, hitting 13 fours and two sixes.
India A faced a daunting target, but it became even more challenging when opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed cheaply. He scored only 11 runs off 8 balls. Tilak Verma, Riyan Parag, and Ruturaj Gaikwad also failed to score. Although Ishan Kishan and Ayush Badoni offered hope, they were unable to lead the team to victory.
Ishan Kishan scored 53 runs off 67 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. Ayush Badoni scored 66 runs off 66 balls, hitting eight fours. With these two dismissals, India’s hopes of victory were dashed. The team managed only 252 runs in 49.1 overs, losing the match by 73 runs.
