Australia all-rounder Cameron Green on Sunday clarified that he will be available to bowl in the IPL after a mix-up by his manager led to him being mistakenly registered as a batsman in next week’s mini auction.
Cameron Green corrected a wrong information
The 26-year-old Green, who missed the 2025 season while recovering from back surgery, returned to international cricket in June as a specialist batsman. However, he has since been cleared to bowl and is currently bowling in the ongoing Ashes series between Australia and England. According to a report, Green was quoted as saying, “I’ll be ready to bowl. I don’t know if my manager wants to hear this, but it was a mistake on his part. He said he didn’t mean to say ‘batsman.’ I think he did it by mistake. It was a mistake on his part.”
The tall all-rounder, Green, represented Mumbai Indians in 2023 and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2024. He is one of the biggest names participating in the auction and is expected to attract a hefty bid. Green’s base price is ₹2 crore. He is listed in the batting category rather than the all-rounder category. The auction will take place in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The auction for the 19th season, or IPL 2026, will be held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16. Approximately 350 players will be up for bid in this auction. However, a maximum of 77 players will be available for sale. Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, Australia’s feared all-rounder Cameron Green has made a significant revelation.
Cameron Green’s base price in the IPL 2026 mini auction is ₹2 crore. He could be the highest bidder. Kolkata Knight Riders will have the most money at the auction, making KKR a potential replacement for Andre Russell. Former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin sold Cameron Green for ₹21 crore in the mock auction. Green was acquired by Chennai Super Kings in the mock auction.
