Shravani Mela Special Trains: The Shravani Mela is scheduled to commence on July 30th this year, attracting millions of pilgrims who journey long distances to offer water at the Vaidyanath Dham. Train travel during this time is particularly crowded, but preparations are being made to ensure a smooth experience for pilgrims and other travelers. To facilitate travel for devotees attending the Shravani Mela, the Railways has introduced two pairs of special trains between Ranchi and Bhagalpur via specific stops. Below are the details:
1. Train No. 08690/08689 Ranchi-Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special:
– This train will operate twice a week following a set route.
– Departure from Ranchi at 17.40 hrs on Sundays and Wednesdays between 26.07.2026 to 09.09.2026.
– Stops include Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Gomoh, Tilaiya, Nawada, Kiul, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj.
– Arrival at Bhagalpur at 06.30 hrs.
2. Train No. 08646/08645 Ranchi-Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special:
– This train will also run twice a week following a different route.
– Departure from Ranchi at 17.30 hrs on Mondays and Fridays between 27.07.2026 to 11.09.2026.
– Stops include Barkakana, Hazaribagh Town, Koderma, Tilaiya, Nawada, Kiul, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj.
– Arrival at Bhagalpur at 06.30 hrs.
According to the Railways, these special trains are being operated to accommodate the increased passenger traffic during the Shravani Mela. This will provide additional rail access for pilgrims from Koderma, Tilaiya, and surrounding areas to travel to Sultanganj and Bhagalpur, while also reducing pressure on regular trains, Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra said. Both trains will have a mix of third AC class, sleeper class, and general class coaches to accommodate passengers.
Howrah-Natesar-Howrah Shravani Mela Special
In view of the convenience of devotees on the occasion of Shravani Mela, train number 03001/03002 Howrah-Natesar-Howrah Shravani Mela Special, running between Howrah and Natesar via Asansol-Jasidih-Jhajha-Kiul-Sheikhpura-Ashtawan-Bihar Sharif-Rajgir, is being given a halt of two minutes at Barbigha station with immediate effect.
Train No. 03001 Howrah-Natesar Shravani Mela Special will arrive at Barbigha at 09:08 and depart at 09:10. Similarly, Train No. 03002 Natesar-Howrah Shravani Mela Special will arrive at Barbigha at 15:10 and depart two minutes later at 15:12.
