Premanand Maharaj Disciple Suicide Update:- Premanand Maharaj needs no introduction today; hundreds of thousands of devotees come to meet him daily, travelling from both within the country and abroad. He is currently in the headlines, though the focus has shifted to him due to the death of his disciple, Deepak Patel—known as Rasik Dulari Sharan—rather than his activities. On Friday morning at 10:36 AM, Rasik Dulari Sharan committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the ‘Gurukripa Kunj’ apartment complex in Vrindavan, Mathura.

This incident has raised numerous questions regarding Premanand Maharaj. The media is actively attempting to question the saints residing at the ashram. Before jumping from the roof, he allegedly injured his private parts using a grinder inside his room. The police are investigating the reasons behind the suicide by examining CCTV footage, DVR records, and forensic evidence.

While the police are busy investigating the matter, the family’s claims point in a different direction. Relatives state that upon their arrival, they were made to wait for hours without anyone coming to meet them; in fact, family members were consistently denied access to him. They would make repeated visits over the course of three or four days but were never allowed to see Dulari.

What is the full story?
Rasik Dulari Sharan, a disciple of Saint Premanand Maharaj, took his own life last Friday by jumping from the roof of the ‘Gau Kripa Kunj’ ashram located on Varah Ghat Road in Vrindavan, Mathura. After he fell, other disciples rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The disciple’s private part had been severed. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived, sent the body for a post-mortem examination, and visited the ashram to conduct an investigation. In its preliminary investigation, the police are treating the case as a suspected suicide. However, Premanand Maharaj does not reside at this ashram.

What does the family claim?
Deepak Patel’s brother-in-law, Sonu Patel, told the media, “Dulari was my brother-in-law. We received a call from the ashram informing us that Dulari Sharan had fallen from the roof. We were told that he needed surgery and were asked to come over immediately. We left home right away. When we arrived that night, we were told not to go straight to the hospital but to come to the ashram first.

The brother-in-law further explained, “When we arrived at 5 o’clock, we were told to wait and sit until 8 o’clock… Nine o’clock came, yet no one came to meet us.” The family states that they left the premises around 9 PM. This claim by the relatives raises a question regarding why it took so long to inform the family after the incident occurred. However, the ashram has not yet issued a response addressing these allegations made by the family.

Who is Premanand Maharaj?
It is a testament to Premanand Maharaj’s devotion that, despite battling kidney issues for years, he remains in good health and walks to the ashram to meet devotees. Some even regard him as an incarnation of God. Premanand Ji Maharaj’s real name is Aniruddh Kumar Pandey. He was born into a poor Brahmin family; his entire family has been devoted to God. Premanand Maharaj was born in 1972 in Akhri village, Sarsaul Block, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Maharaj Ji has often mentioned in his discourses that, in his early life, he was a devout follower of Lord Shiva and adhered to His teachings. He spent the greater part of his life in solitude and in the company of other divine saints. As a saint, Babaji remained indifferent to the weather, food, or clothing, and he lived in the vicinity of the ghats in Haridwar and Varanasi. He would always bathe in the Ganges, regardless of how biting the cold might be.
