Bihar Government Offers Additional Subsidy
While the Central Government provides a subsidy of ₹78,000 under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, the Bihar government offers an additional subsidy of ₹20,000 to the state’s residents. Consequently, people save a total of ₹98,000. The state government has announced this extra subsidy for consumers.

If you install a 1 kW capacity solar panel in Bihar, you receive a ₹30,000 subsidy from the Central Government. The state government provides an additional subsidy of ₹10,000, resulting in a total benefit of ₹40,000. Similarly, for a 2 kW solar panel, the government provides a subsidy of ₹60,000, plus an additional ₹20,000, bringing the total subsidy benefit to ₹80,000. How ​​to Apply

To install the solar system, first visit the official website.
On the homepage, select the ‘Apply for Rooftop Solar’ option.
On the next page, you will need to select your state’s electricity distribution company (DISCOM).
Enter your consumer number, mobile number, and email address on the new page.
Follow the guidelines to submit your application for the RTS (Rooftop Solar) panel.
You will then receive approval regarding the feasibility of the installation.
You can then have the solar panel installed by a vendor registered with your DISCOM.
After installation, you must apply for a net meter and provide details of the plant.
A commissioning certificate will be issued after the meter is installed and inspected by the DISCOM.
Once the certificate is issued, please submit your bank account details and a cancelled cheque via the portal.
The subsidy amount will be credited to your account; this process may take 30 to 45 days.
