8th Pay Commission: Millions of government employees and pensioners across the country are eagerly awaiting the 8th Pay Commission,but its notification has yet to be issued. Various claims are being made about the 8th Pay Commission in media reports. It is reported that the 8th Pay Commission may be implemented in 2026. However,the government has now officially given the reason for the delay. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated that letters were sent to the Ministry of Defence,Ministry of Home Affairs,Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT),and all states on January 17 and February 17,2025,to solicit inputs on the Terms of Reference. He said,‘Inputs are still being received. Therefore,the official notification will be issued at the appropriate time.’
