PF Account Transfer: Have you switched jobs multiple times recently? Are your PF funds scattered across several accounts, and you’ve been wanting to consolidate them but weren’t sure how? Great news—this guide is perfect for you! Today, we’re going to walk you through the simple process of merging your old PF account balance into your current one, all from the comfort of your home.
What’s the first step?
Start by confirming that both your previous and current PF accounts are connected to your UAN. Next, before you proceed with the transfer, make sure your bank account details, PAN, and all other KYC information in the system are accurate and up-to-date. Don’t forget to review the balance in your old account too. If you spot any issues or inconsistencies, reach out to report them right away.
How to transfer your PF using the online method
Begin by accessing the official EPFO member portal and signing in using your UAN and password.Next, navigate to the ‘Online Services’ section in the menu and choose ‘One Member – One EPF Account (Transfer Request)’. Your screen will show all the details of your current (new) PF account. From here, you’ll enter the information about your previous employer or old PF account. Double-check all your information and finalize your application using OTP verification. Once your application goes through, you can monitor your transfer progress anytime online. Within several days, your previous balance will move to your active PF account, making life easier by eliminating the need to juggle multiple accounts.
Keep this in mind while transferring money
To transfer money from your PF account, the account holder must first have a UAN (Universal Account Number) activated. Furthermore, the account holder’s bank account number, Aadhaar number, and other details must be correct and appropriate.
