Pension Hike– Higher Pension Announced for Beneficiaries, Check the Details 

Pension Hike: Big news for pensioners. The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a major decision. It has restored the higher rates of additional pension for eligible pensioners and family pensioners aged 70 and 75. The revised rates will increase the additional pension for those aged 70 from 7% to 10%. The additional pension for those aged 75 will increase from 12% to 15%.

The government issued the notification on September 22

The Andhra Pradesh government’s Finance Department issued a notification regarding this decision on September 22nd. The Andhra Pradesh Pensioners’ Association, Amaravati, had previously requested a revision of the additional pension rates from the state government. Following this, the government revised the pension rates included in the 2019 order.

Great news for retirees and their families! Pension increases are on the way

With this update, retirees and family pensioners who’ve turned 70 will now enjoy a boost of 10 percent added to their base pension—an improvement from the previous 7 percent. Likewise, retirees and family pensioners aged 75 and above will receive an extra 15 percent on top of their base pension, compared to the earlier 12 percent.

Pension rates stay the same for those 80 and older

For retirees and family pensioners who are 80 years old or beyond, the rates remain unchanged. Those who’ve reached 80 will keep getting an additional 20 percent of their base pension, just as before. The bonus amounts for older age groups continue as follows: 25 percent for those aged 85, 30 percent for those aged 90, 35 percent for those aged 95, and 50 percent for those aged 100.

When can you expect the new pension payments?

According to the Finance Department, the updated rates for retirees aged 70 and 75 kick in starting with the December 2026 pension payment, which will be distributed on January 1, 2027. The government confirmed that all guidelines will follow the February 2022 order. The Director of Treasuries and Accounts has been tasked with making sure these new rates are put into action smoothly.
