Rule Changes Effective October 1st: The month of September ends today, and October begins tomorrow. The coming month brings several changes that will impact the pockets of the general public. Key changes include new SBI ATM limits, Aadhaar authentication requirements for LPG, and modifications to NPS and UPI rules. Additionally, purchasing electronic appliances—such as TVs, refrigerators, and ACs—will become significantly more expensive starting October 1st.

LPG Rules Change

Oil marketing companies revise and announce new LPG cylinder prices on the first of every month. LPG cylinder prices may change on October 1st. While there have been several price adjustments for 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders recently, the prices of 14kg domestic LPG cylinders have remained stable. From October 1st, users who have not completed Aadhaar biometric authentication or e-KYC for their LPG connections will face difficulties in receiving the LPG subsidy.

SBI Rule Changes:
A major change is coming for customers of India’s largest bank, the State Bank of India (SBI), starting October 1st. The number of free monthly transactions at ATMs of other banks will be reduced from 10 to five. This limit covers both financial and non-financial transactions. For customers holding ‘Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts’ opened at branches, a charge of ₹15 plus GST will apply to every ATM withdrawal made after the four free monthly withdrawals.

Meanwhile, for salary account holders, the monthly free transaction limit is being reduced from 10 to five. Once the free ATM withdrawal limit is exhausted, a charge of ₹23 plus GST will apply per transaction. For non-financial transactions, a charge of ₹11 plus GST will apply after the free limit is exceeded.

Revised Ticket Checking Rules
Central Railway will conduct a special ‘ticket checking drive’ from October 1 to October 31. The key rule of this campaign is ‘One Ticket, One Original ID’. Railway officials have clearly stated that merely having a ticket is not enough for the journey; you must also carry your original identity proof.
