Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup Ather has achieved a major milestone. There is currently high demand for the company’s electric vehicles, with customers purchasing them in large numbers. The company has now sold 8 lakh electric scooters, marking a major achievement; Ather has become the fourth electric vehicle company to reach this figure.

Sales of Over 8 Lakh Electric Scooters
According to reports, TVS Motor, Ola Electric, and Bajaj Auto have previously sold more than 8 lakh electric scooters. Notably, Hero MotoCorp’s electric brand, Vida, is still far from reaching the 8-lakh sales mark. Data from the Vahan portal indicates that Ather had sold 8 lakh electric scooters by September 28, 2026.

Ola Sets a Record
Meanwhile, Ola crossed the 10-lakh sales mark in March of this year. TVS surpassed Ola to reach the 10-lakh milestone in August. Additionally, Bajaj reached the 8-lakh sales figure in June. Ather Energy has now achieved this milestone as well. A look at Ather’s sales reveals significant momentum over the past four years, with a particularly sharp rise in sales since 2025.

Ather’s Sales from January to September
According to the data, Ather sold approximately 4.75 lakh electric scooters between January 2025 and September 28. This reflects a 59 per cent growth in sales over the last 21 months. Ather launched its new Konarc electric scooter on August 29, opening up significant sales potential for the company. Last month, the company sold 29,694 electric scooters nationwide, marking its third-highest monthly sales figure to date.

Significant Contribution from the Rizta

The Rizta played a major role in August’s sales performance, accounting for 76% of the company’s total dispatches. Meanwhile, the 450 series contributed 23%. Given the current sales momentum, the company is on track to reach a total sales volume of approximately 3.5 lakh electric scooters by the end of 2026.

Scooter Lineup

According to company reports, Ather sells five electric scooter models. The Konarc is the most affordable option, priced at ₹101,999. Prices for the Rizta start at ₹121,549. The Ather 450S starts at ₹127,888, with prices going up to ₹151,046. Finally, the Ather 450 Apex stands as the most expensive model, priced at ₹1.95 lakh.
