Nissan Pixo EV: Nissan has unveiled its new Nissan Pixo EV for the European market. This small electric car is designed for city streets and easy parking. It will feature a range of 259 km, 50 kW DC fast charging, flexible rear seats, and 356 litres of boot space. Range and Battery
The Nissan Pixo EV is powered by a 60 kW electric motor and offers a claimed range of 259 km. For the battery, Nissan has utilised Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology, marking the first application of LFP battery technology in Nissan’s European lineup.
It supports an 11 kW AC charger. Additionally, with the standard 50 kW DC fast charging system, the battery can be charged from 15% to 80% in just 28 minutes.
Google Built-in and Gemini Voice Assistance
The cabin of the Nissan Pixo is not only compact but also technology-focused. It features a 7-inch driver display alongside a 10-inch touchscreen. The infotainment system comes with Google built-in and includes Gemini voice assistance.
At launch, Gemini will support 16 languages and dialects. You can control functions such as navigation, entertainment, and communication using natural voice commands.
Furthermore, Face ID technology can recognise individual drivers and automatically load their personal settings. Users will also be able to remotely access charging and certain vehicle functions via the MyNissan app.
One-Pedal Driving
Nissan has also made ‘one-pedal’ technology standard on the Pixo EV. This system allows the driver to accelerate, decelerate, and come to a complete stop using only the accelerator pedal.
Constantly switching one’s foot between the accelerator and the brake in traffic can be quite a hassle. The one-pedal system is designed to alleviate this very issue. This feature proves particularly beneficial in slow-moving city traffic.
Additionally, features such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane departure warning, and hands-free parking come as standard equipment. Despite being a compact city car, Nissan has equipped it with a host of driver-assistance features.
Cube-Inspired Design
In terms of design, the Nissan Pixo stands out significantly. It features cube-inspired proportions and pixel-like lighting. The front bumper sports a playful “robot-face” theme, giving the car a unique character that distinguishes it from traditional small EVs.
Nissan has also hidden 23 visual “Easter eggs” both inside and outside the car. According to the company, the design is a nod to the Japanese wordplay on “Ni-San”, which incorporates the numbers two and three.
Deliveries
It is worth noting that the Nissan Pixo EV has currently been introduced for the European market. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027. Nissan will announce pricing, specifications, and pre-order details starting in December.
