1 September Rule Changes: Only today remains before August ends. Following this, a series of financial changes is set to take effect. Several major financial changes are scheduled for September 1 (tomorrow) that will directly impact the pockets of the common man. Oil marketing companies typically release new LPG cylinder prices at the start of the month.
Additionally, LPG consumers who have not completed their e-KYC process by August 31 may face difficulties obtaining domestic cylinders starting September 1; the cylinder cost could also be higher.
Know the New Rules
Apart from cylinder prices, changes may also be seen in the prices of automobiles and dairy products. Companies like Tata Motors and Hyundai are raising the prices of their cars and SUVs starting the 1st of the month. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the price of ‘stable milk’ (loose milk supplied by dairies) could rise by ₹9 per litre, bringing the price to ₹102 per litre.
Potential Relief
On a positive note, the immigration process for international air travellers has been simplified; the mandatory stamping of boarding passes will be eliminated, and passengers will be able to present digital boarding passes. In the banking sector, a new rule on updating interest rates on bulk fixed deposits (FDs) exceeding ₹3 crore has been introduced to ensure transparency; these rules will come into effect on October 1. Furthermore, ATM charges and CNG/PNG rates may also be revised this month.
