Motorola Signature 27 Unveiled: Motorola has unveiled the Motorola Signature 27—the second generation of its premium smartphone series—at the Snapdragon Summit. The company claims it is the most advanced smartphone it has ever created. Key highlights of the phone include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, AI-based video features, and the new ArcticMesh cooling system. Its pricing and full specifications have not yet been revealed.
New Snapdragon Chipset
The Motorola Signature 27 is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. This is a more powerful version compared to the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. According to Motorola, the new processor will enhance on-device AI, camera processing, gaming performance, and download speeds.
ArcticMesh Cooling System
Such a powerful processor requires effective heat management. To address this, Motorola has equipped the Signature 27 with the new ArcticMesh cooling system. It uses diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber.
According to the company, this new cooling setup is designed to dissipate heat more efficiently during AI processing, gaming, and video-related tasks. Its thermal system is approximately 40% larger than that of the previous generation.
200MP Periscope Camera
In terms of camera capabilities, Motorola has implemented a significant upgrade to position the Signature 27 in the premium category. It features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The 200MP periscope lens enhances the smartphone’s zoom photography capabilities. However, Motorola has not yet revealed full details regarding the optical zoom, so specific information about its actual zoom performance will only be available at the time of launch.
Gemini and AI Features
Google Gemini has been deeply integrated into the Motorola Signature 27. According to the company, users will be able to create polished videos using their prompts, photos, or existing footage.
Gemini Omni will be used for this purpose. Additionally, features for generating music and soundtracks using Lyria will be included. Motorola aims to go beyond a simple AI chatbot, striving instead to make AI an integral part of the camera and content creation workflow.
Audio by B&O
In terms of design, Motorola has adopted a distinct approach this time. It features a large camera module on the back, housing four sensors and an LED flash. The phone sports an aluminium silhouette with contoured edges, and Motorola is positioning it as having an elegant, slim design.
Materials such as ceramic and brushed aluminium have been used for the camera panel. This not only gives the phone a premium finish but also provides it with a unique visual identity.
Colour Options
The Motorola Signature 27 is offered in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Green colours. The Coal Smoke version features a woven texture designed to improve grip and enhance durability.
Meanwhile, the Capulet Green variant comes with a brushed, textile-inspired finish. Both colour options lend distinct styles to the phone’s premium design, setting it apart significantly from Motorola’s traditional smartphone aesthetics.
