MG Hector Tomahawk Hybrid PHEV: If you are looking for an SUV that runs on both petrol and electric power, MG Motor India’s latest offering is for you. The company has recently launched the Hector Tomahawk Hybrid PHEV in the Indian market; notably, it is available exclusively in a 7-seater variant. Test drives and deliveries are set to begin in November 2026. The new Hector Tomahawk PHEV boasts an electric-only range of 115 km and a total driving range of 1,100 km. Let’s take a closer look at the details of this vehicle.
Price
Starting with the pricing, the Hector Tomahawk PHEV’s ‘Exclusive 7S’ variant is priced at ₹25.70 lakh, while the top-end ‘Essence 7S’ variant costs ₹27.80 lakh. MG has also introduced a ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ (BaaS) option for select bookings. Under this scheme, the initial price drops to ₹21.79 lakh, though a battery rental fee of ₹3.20 per kilometre applies.

Engine and Range
It has a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a dedicated hybrid transmission, and a 20.5 kWh battery. The electric motor generates 148 kW of power, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just nine seconds. Remarkably, the vehicle can travel over 115 kilometres without burning a single drop of petrol. With a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank, the total driving range exceeds 1,100 kilometres.
Driving Modes
The vehicle offers four distinct driving modes. In ‘Pure Electric Drive,’ the car runs solely on the electric motor. In ‘Series Hybrid’ mode, the engine functions to generate electricity. ‘Parallel Hybrid’ mode combines the engine and motor for enhanced performance, while ‘Engine Direct Drive’ mode is designed to deliver superior mileage on highways.

Interior
It features a ‘Desert Squadron’ interior theme with Almond Brown and Carbon Black shades and leatherette upholstery. The cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch infotainment display, an 8.8-inch driver’s screen, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ventilated powered front seats (with memory function for the driver), and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system.
The seven-seat layout includes a second row that can slide and recline, features 60:40 split-folding capabilities, and offers a ‘tip-and-tumble’ function for easy access to the third row. Additionally, it comes with i-SMART 3.0, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital key sharing, OTA updates, gesture controls, and a GenAI-powered assistant.
Safety
Six airbags come as standard for safety. Other safety features include a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, ESP, traction control, TPMS, and Level 2 ADAS. A lifetime battery warranty is being offered to the first owner.
