MG Hector Hawk Plus: Whenever a familiar and trusted name makes a comeback in the SUV segment, it generates a unique sense of excitement. A similar buzz is currently building among MG Motor India fans. MG Motor India is set to launch its new three-row electric SUV, the Hector Hawk Plus, soon. This will be the company’s first vehicle based on the ADAPT architecture. Let’s take a detailed look at what makes this new vehicle special.
Global Debut
JSW MG Motor India has teased its upcoming three-row electric SUV, which is scheduled for a global debut in India on August 26. This new model is expected to be named the MG Hector Hawk Plus and will be the first production vehicle built on the company’s new ADAPT architecture.
The SUV will launch in India with two electrified variants. The fully electric variant, the Hector Hawk Plus, will arrive first, while the plug-in hybrid variant—expected later this year—may be named the Hector Tomahawk PHEV. Both models will share the same basic architecture and body shell but will differ significantly in terms of their powertrains.

69.2kWh Battery
The Hector Hawk Plus EV will share its battery technology with the Wuling Eksion sold in Indonesia. The Eksion is closely related to the Wuling Starlight 560, which also serves as the base for this upcoming MG SUV. The India-spec electric SUV is expected to feature a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack powering a front-mounted electric motor.
This motor can generate about 201bhp of power and 310Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Hector sold in India. According to international specifications, it offers a claimed range of around 530km on the CLTC cycle, though the final ARAI-certified range in India may differ.
Tomahawk PHEV
The plug-in hybrid version is expected to arrive in late 2026, following the EV launch. It could pair a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery and an electric motor. In overseas variants, this combination generates approximately 194bhp of power and 230Nm of torque. Thanks to the larger battery, this PHEV variant can operate in pure EV mode for short daily commutes, while the petrol engine offers the necessary flexibility for long-distance journeys.

Features
The Hector Hawk Plus is expected to come with an extensive list of features. These may include a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS. Exterior highlights are likely to include a split LED lighting setup, large dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and wrap-around LED tail lamps.
