Metro Update: Due to an anticipated protest at Jantar Mantar, 57 metro stations across Delhi-NCR will remain closed. Rajneesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner of Transport Range with Delhi Police, has sent a formal request to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s Managing Director to implement this security precaution. The closure will take effect from 9 pm Friday and continue until conditions stabilize on Saturday.

Expect significant traffic congestion throughout Delhi on Saturday

It’s important to note that Saturday will see demonstrations at Jantar Mantar and throughout sensitive zones in New Delhi, as called for by the CJP. Additionally, the Congress-led INDIAN organization continues to organize ongoing protests. These measures have been implemented in response to these circumstances.

Security measures have been strengthened by authorities

During last July’s CJP protests, the New Delhi district experienced considerable disruption. Despite police efforts, massive crowds assembled in the area. Several metro stations were shut down during that period as well. This time around, law enforcement has taken preventive steps ahead of time, resulting in station closures beginning Friday evening.
