Death Sentence for Convicts Muskan and Sahil
The trial concluded after 126 hearings, with the prosecution examining 22 witnesses. According to District Government Counsel KK Chaubey, District Judge Arvind Kumar Mishra delivered the verdict. Subsequently, a hearing was held to debate the sentencing and provide the convicts an opportunity to present their side.
#WATCH | Meerut, UP: Saurabh Rajput’s mother, Renu Devi, says, “We feel very good; we are deeply satisfied that both of them have been sentenced to death. We received the justice we were seeking. We are extremely grateful to our lawyers, associates, and staff; we will always thank them and remain indebted to them. We have nothing to do with the daughter who is in jail. As for the elder daughter—if her maternal grandparents hand her over to us without any conditions, we will keep her with us.”

On October 14, 2026, the court sentenced both to death. Saurabh Rajput had formerly worked in the Merchant Navy and later began working as a sales manager at a mall in London. He had returned to Meerut from London on February 24, 2025, to celebrate birthdays with his family; Muskan’s birthday fell on February 25, and their daughter’s birthday was on February 28.

According to the police and the prosecution, Saurabh was murdered on March 3, 2025. It was alleged that Muskan and Sahil conspired to commit the crime. Afterward, they placed the dismembered body parts inside a blue drum and covered them with cement. Following a police investigation, both accused were subsequently arrested.
The case was heard in the Meerut District Court. Proceedings spanned 126 hearings, during which the statements of 22 witnesses were recorded. On September 30, 2026, the court convicted Muskan and Sahil in the murder case.
Muskan and Sahil Present Their Side
According to prison authorities, Muskan and Sahil were produced separately, and both presented their respective sides. Senior Jail Superintendent Veeresh Raj Sharma stated that the hearing was brief. The court questioned both individuals on various points, including matters related to the forensic report. However, he declined to share details regarding the questions asked. According to the police, Muskan had drugged her husband, Saurabh Rajput, rendering him unconscious, and then—along with Sahil—stabbed him to death. Subsequently, they dismembered Saurabh Rajput’s body, placed the remains in a blue drum, and sealed it with cement.
