Mahindra Vision X: Every new car in the SUV market raises public expectations, and when it comes to Mahindra, all eyes naturally turn towards it. The company’s Mahindra Vision X is once again the talk of the town. Its design patent has recently surfaced, clearly indicating that the concept is rapidly moving towards becoming a production model. Judging by its styling, technology, and new platform, it appears poised to set a new benchmark in the sub-4-meter SUV segment.
With the design patent revealed, several details about the vehicle have come to light. Let’s take a closer look at its design, features, powertrain, price, and launch timeline.
Design
The first thing that catches the eye in the Mahindra Vision X design patent is its incredibly sporty, futuristic appearance. The SUV’s design in the patent images closely resembles the Vision X concept the company showcased last year.
The front features a large, striking grille, with a central X-shaped design that gives it a distinctive identity. Trapezoidal headlamp housings flank the grille, while slim LED DRLs positioned above add to its bold look.

Side Profile
The side profile of the Mahindra Vision X is nothing short of premium. Wide wheel arches, large alloy wheels, and flush door handles contribute to a clean, modern aesthetic.
Interestingly, the design patent reveals camera-based ORVMs (Outside Rear-View Mirrors), although the production model might feature conventional mirrors to comply with Indian regulations. Additionally, black body cladding, roof rails, and a gently sloping roofline towards the rear enhance the SUV’s sporty appeal.
Cabin
It is worth noting that the Vision X’s interior promises to be just as impressive as its exterior. The concept model showcased a dual-tone cabin theme, while the curved dashboard design exudes a premium feel at first glance. Additionally, a two-spoke steering wheel and a curved dual-screen setup lend the cabin a high-tech feel. This configuration is reminiscent of the Mahindra BE 6.

NU IQ Platform
The Mahindra Vision X will be based on the company’s new NU IQ platform. This platform will serve as the foundation for several upcoming Mahindra SUVs. Its key highlight is its versatility, allowing for the development of petrol, diesel, and electric powertrains.
The company is expected to launch the electric variant first, followed by the market introduction of ICE (petrol and diesel) models.
