Mahindra’s Upcoming SUVs in India: Mahindra is steadily strengthening its foothold in the Indian SUV market, and the company is now setting its sights on the next wave of SUVs. In the near future, Mahindra plans not only to update its existing lineup but also to introduce several all-new models. These include a major update to the popular Thar, a new SUV based on the ‘Vision S’ concept, and two new electric SUVs.

So, if you are planning to buy a new SUV in the coming months, waiting a little while could prove to be a rewarding decision. Mahindra is preparing to launch four new SUVs in the Indian market soon; the lineup will feature petrol and diesel models alongside powerful electric SUVs. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

Updated Mahindra Thar

The Mahindra Thar is one of the company’s most talked-about SUVs, and the current three-door model is set to receive a significant update. This upgrade is expected to go beyond a standard facelift. Test mules have already been spotted on Indian roads, offering glimpses of the upcoming design changes.

The new Thar may feature revised lighting elements and a new front bumper. Its design is also expected to incorporate elements similar to the Thar Roxx, potentially giving the three-door Thar a more premium and striking appearance.

Significant changes are likely inside the cabin as well. The new Thar might adopt certain features found in the five-door Thar Roxx. Additions such as a larger touchscreen infotainment system and enhanced features could make it feel more premium than the current model. If you are looking for a compact yet powerful off-road SUV, this updated Thar could be an excellent choice.

Vision S SUV

Mahindra is preparing to enter another segment characterised by fierce competition. Based on the ‘Vision S’ concept, this SUV is expected to launch in early 2027. It will be positioned between the XUV 3XO and the Scorpio N in the company’s product lineup.

It will be built on the new NU_IQ platform and is expected to retain the bold, upright stance seen in the concept model. As for the engine, it is likely to offer the turbo-petrol and diesel options already available in the XUV 3XO, so the vehicle should not disappoint in terms of performance.

BE 07

If you are a fan of electric vehicles, the BE 07 will be a strong option. Positioned above the BE 06, this SUV will be built on the INGLO skateboard architecture. It is expected to feature a larger battery pack than its smaller siblings and may offer multiple motor configurations.

Inside the cabin, a setup featuring three 12.3-inch screens is likely, lending it a premium feel. Features such as Level 2 ADAS and bi-directional charging will also be included; in terms of technology, the vehicle will feel no less advanced than a smartphone.

Vision T

Following the BE 07, another electric SUV from Mahindra—inspired by the Vision T concept—is in the pipeline. It will sport a straight, boxy design, allowing it to carve out a distinct identity in the off-road segment. Reports suggest it may incorporate design elements similar to the Thar Roxx, though the internal combustion engine will be replaced by a fully electric powertrain. This SUV is expected to launch in 2028, following the Vision S-based model and the BE 07.
