Mahindra Thar Facelift 2026: The Mahindra Thar is one of those SUVs in India that naturally commands attention on the road. Its robust body, 4×4 capability, and off-roading pedigree have earned it a special place in the lifestyle SUV segment. Now, the company is preparing to launch this popular 3-door SUV with another major update. The vehicle could be introduced to the Indian market in the coming weeks.

New Front Design

Mahindra is expected to significantly revamp the SUV’s appearance. The most notable change could be in the headlamps; the current halogen units are likely to be replaced by projector LED headlamps, potentially featuring integrated ring-type LED DRLs. This will give the SUV a striking front profile and align its styling with the 5-door Thar Roxx.

Additionally, the front grille may receive a new design, possibly featuring the Thar Roxx-style grille pattern and Mahindra branding at the top. A new, more robust, and rugged-looking bumper could also be introduced.

Cabin

The interior of the new Thar Facelift will also undergo significant changes. The highlight could be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, likely borrowed from the Thar Roxx. The driver display is also expected to get an upgrade; higher variants might feature a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, while lower variants could retain the analogue setup.

Furthermore, features such as automatic climate control and ventilated seats are expected in the new Thar. For music enthusiasts, the SUV is likely to come equipped with a premium Harman Kardon audio system.

Level 2 ADAS

The new Mahindra Thar Facelift may now feature Level 2 ADAS. This is expected to include capabilities such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure Warning.

Engine

The engine setup in the new Thar Facelift is expected to remain unchanged. Lower variants may feature a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, available exclusively with a 2WD configuration. Additionally, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines are likely to be offered. Both engines are expected to come with manual and automatic transmission options, along with a choice between 2WD and 4×4 configurations.

Price

The price of the Mahindra Thar 3-door is expected to rise following these significant design and feature upgrades. As the company has not yet announced the pricing for the facelift, the final price remains to be seen.
