Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup: The Mahindra Scorpio is set to move beyond the SUV segment. With the Scorpio Lifestyler, the company is bringing this popular nameplate into the pickup truck segment. It is reported to have a starting price of ₹19.89 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries expected to commence in April 2027.
The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler is a new mid-size lifestyle pickup featuring a cabin similar to the Scorpio N, a large load bed, 4×4 capability, and premium features. Recently, a test mule of the Scorpio Lifestyler was spotted in Coimbatore, revealing its production-spec design and lighting elements.
Design
In terms of design, the pickup features a new tailgate displaying “MAHINDRA” lettering in large characters. Additionally, new LED tail lights, chunky bumpers, and a large front grille give it a robust and rugged appearance. The front end features sleeker LED headlights along with vertically arranged “Ice Cube” fog lights.
This indicates that Mahindra did not create the design simply by attaching a pickup bed to the rear of an SUV; a conscious effort has been made to give it a distinct identity at both the front and rear.
Large Load Bed
The Scorpio Lifestyler’s biggest highlight is its rear load bed. The passenger cabin ends behind the rear doors, giving way to a separate cargo area. While some wheel well intrusion is visible, the overall bed size is quite substantial. For adventure enthusiasts, this load bed opens up possibilities such as campervan conversions.
Roof racks are also included, further enhancing the pickup’s practicality. It is not merely a commercial vehicle for hauling cargo; it is also suitable for weekend adventures and outdoor activities.
18-Inch Alloy Wheels
The Scorpio Lifestyler features bold cladding around the wheel arches to create a commanding stance on the road. It is equipped with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels shod with wide 255-section tyres.
The wide tyres and robust wheel arches further accentuate the pickup’s rugged character. The suspension setup includes frequency-dependent dampers, designed to enhance ride quality and vehicle control across various road surfaces.
Cabin
Despite being a pickup truck, the Scorpio Lifestyler features a highly refined cabin. It sports a dedicated new steering wheel and a completely redesigned dashboard. The dashboard houses vertically positioned AC vents and a large portrait-style infotainment screen.
It also features a TFT instrument cluster with a landscape layout. Cabin amenities include dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and a sunroof. Technology-focused features like a driver monitoring system and a surround-view camera setup set it apart from traditional pickup trucks.
Additionally, it will come equipped with a sophisticated ADAS suite. This ensures that the Scorpio Lifestyler offers comfort and technology levels comparable to modern premium SUVs.
Engine
The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler will use the existing engine lineup from the company. It is expected to offer 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine options. Both engines will be available with manual and automatic gearbox choices.
Price and Deliveries
The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler has a starting price of ₹19.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to commence in April 2027, following the completion of production and road testing phases.
