LPG Rule Change – Rural Consumers Now Get Cylinders Every 25 Days, Check Details

New LPG Rule: If you are an LPG consumer, this news could be very significant for you. Considerable tension in the Middle East has clearly affected the supply of everything from petrol and diesel to LPG. Oil companies had previously adjusted LPG cylinder booking intervals to 25 days for urban areas and 45 days for rural areas. Now, after some time, the government has provided major relief to rural LPG consumers.

Decision taken on September 7

On September 7, the government reduced the booking interval for rural LPG consumers from 45 days to 25 days. After this, urban residents are wondering whether the booking interval in cities will also be reduced—perhaps from 25 days to 15 days. Let’s look at the answer to this question.

Understanding the reasons for booking interval differences

LPG involves high demand and supply dynamics. In light of this, oil companies had temporarily modified booking rules. When demand rises, the required time gap between two cylinder bookings is adjusted accordingly. Additionally, maintaining these booking intervals helps curb black-market activities.

Will urban consumers be able to book every 15 days?

Gas supplies were disrupted due to the tensions between Iran and the US. Consequently, the Ministry of Petroleum had extended the booking interval for urban LPG consumers from 15 days to 25 days. As for when this will revert to 15 days, neither the oil companies nor the government have made any official announcement yet.

High cylinder consumption

Many households have high cylinder consumption. This depends on the number of family members and the volume of gas being used. However, if your cylinder runs out quickly, you can opt for a Double Bottle Connection (DBC). You can also use a 5 kg FTL cylinder if needed.
