PM Kisan Scheme: Big news for Farmers. Women farmers are playing an increasingly important role in strengthening Indian agriculture and building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). Through their hard work, determination and contribution to farming, they are supporting rural livelihoods, improving agricultural productivity and creating opportunities for economic independence.

The government’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has reportedly provided Rs 1.06 lakh crore to women beneficiaries. This financial assistance can help eligible women farmers meet agricultural expenses, purchase essential farming inputs and manage their cultivation activities.

The growing contribution of women in agriculture highlights the powerful combination of Nari Shakti (women’s empowerment) and Kisan Shakti (farmers’ strength). With better access to financial support, resources and opportunities, women farmers can strengthen their role in agricultural development and rural economic growth.

Empowering women farmers is not just about supporting agriculture; it is also about promoting financial independence, strengthening rural families and building a more inclusive economy. Their dedication and resilience continue to contribute to the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant India.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a very popular government scheme being run to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers of the country. Under this, eligible farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year in three installments of Rs 2,000 each directly into their bank accounts.

The question often arises in people’s minds whether women farmers are also eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme or is it only for men. According to the government rules, women farmers can also avail the benefits of this scheme, provided they fulfill all the conditions of the scheme. Let us understand its rules in simple language in this article.

It is most important to have land in the name of women farmers

The first and foremost condition to avail the benefits of PM Kisan Yojana is that the cultivable land should be registered in the name of the woman. If the land is in the name of any male member of the family, then the installment of the scheme will not be given just on the basis of being a woman.
