LPG e-KYC Deadline: Good news has arrived for domestic LPG gas cylinder users! Following government directives, gas consumers now have until September 14th to finish their e-KYC process. This extension marks the fourth consecutive time the deadline has been pushed back to provide relief to consumers.
Originally, all consumers were required to complete their e-KYC by August 15th. The deadline was then extended to August 23rd, followed by August 31st, and subsequently to September 7th.
In the district, around 1.75 lakh consumers have yet to complete their e-KYC. By doing so, they can avoid having their connections disconnected, as e-KYC is a mandatory requirement for domestic LPG gas cylinder consumers.
Regarding the supply of domestic LPG gas cylinders, Iocl, HPCL, and BPCL cater to a total of 1.2 million consumers in the district. District Supply Officer Amit Tiwari has noted that approximately 1.75 million consumers still need to complete their e-KYC. Efforts are being made to raise awareness among consumers about the importance of e-KYC.
A call to action has been made to ensure that 100% of consumers complete their e-KYC. All gas agency operators have been directed to guarantee full compliance among their consumers. The e-KYC process can be completed from home via the app, and for those facing difficulties, they are encouraged to visit their gas agency for assistance.
Meanwhile if you’re planning to book a domestic LPG cylinder or are considering a refill, be sure to familiarize yourself with the current rules. The government has amended some rules regarding domestic gas cylinder booking. Under the new rules, the time between booking a refill and the next cylinder has been reduced from 45 days to 25 days. This applies to both urban and rural domestic LPG customers. This means it’s easier to plan your next booking before your cylinder runs out.
However, the changes related to LPG aren’t limited to refill deadlines. Rules related to subsidies, booking, delivery, and domestic connections are also important for consumers. Therefore, before booking a cylinder, it’s important to understand which rules apply to you and whether any conditions will hinder your booking.
